Terms of service

These terms apply to venues using The Advance and to everyone who signs in to it. The Advance is provided by DOMISSOUND.Co (DOMISSOUNDCO LTD, registered address c/o Accountability, 45 Market Street, Hoylake, Wirral, CH47 2BQ, England, company number 11345848) — “we” and “us”.

The service

The Advance helps venues manage shows, advances, crew rotas, shift offers, technical reports and invoices. It's a young service built with a small group of founding venues (“The Advance Tribe”), so features will change as we improve it; we'll tell venues in advance about changes that materially affect them. Venues join by request and we may decline a request.

Accounts and sign-in

You sign in with a link sent to your email address, so keep access to that inbox secure. Links in shift offers and advance emails are personal to the person they were sent to — please don't forward them. Venue admins decide who has access to their venue and should remove people who no longer need it.

If your venue turns on API access, treat its API keys like passwords: keep them secret, revoke any that may have leaked, and remember that your venue is responsible for the systems that use them.

Venues' responsibilities

• The information you add is accurate and you're entitled to use it, including personal information about crew and artists.
• You remain responsible for your shows, advances, the people you book, how you engage them, and paying them.
• You review automated emails and settings to make sure they suit your venue — The Advance sends what you configure it to send.

Acceptable use

Don't misuse the service: no attempts to access other venues' data, disrupt the service, send spam, or upload anything unlawful or malicious.

Fees

The Advance is paid per venue, monthly or annually in advance, at the price shown on your Billing page. Payments are taken by Stripe.

• Founding venues use it free until we give at least 60 days' written notice that charging starts, and are only charged once they've added a card and agreed to the price.
• Other venues get a free trial, then pay the price shown when they add a card.
• You can cancel at any time from your Billing page. You keep access until the end of the period you've paid for; part periods aren't refunded.
• If a payment fails we'll tell your venue's admins. If it's still unpaid 15 days later your venue is paused until it's paid: nothing is deleted, and paying switches it straight back on.
• We'll give at least 30 days' notice of any price change.

You can stop using the service at any time.

Your data

Venues own the data they put into The Advance. We process it as described in our privacy notice and only to provide the service. When a venue leaves, it can ask for a copy of its data and we'll delete it as set out in the privacy notice.

Feedback

We're grateful for bug reports and ideas. By sending them you're happy for us to use them to improve The Advance, without any obligation to you.

Availability

We work to keep The Advance available and secure but can't guarantee it will be uninterrupted or error-free. Please keep your own copies of anything critical for a show night.

Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't legally be limited. Otherwise, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability to a venue in any 12-month period is limited to the greater of the fees that venue paid us in that period and £100.

Ending use

A venue can stop using The Advance at any time by emailing us. We may suspend a venue's access if it breaches these terms or puts the service or other users at risk, and will explain why where we can. While a venue is suspended its data is kept but no emails or automations run. Once a venue has left, we delete its data as set out in the privacy notice.

General

We may update these terms; we'll show the date at the top and tell venues about significant changes. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. Questions: hello@theadvance.co.uk.
